Snipplet LLC ("Snipplet," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website snipplet.com and the Snipplet mobile application (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account details: email address, username, display name, and optional profile photo
  • Content you create: snipplets, folders, images, and messages
  • Communications you send us (support requests, feedback)
  • Photos and text you submit to AI features for processing

Information Collected Automatically

With your consent, we collect device information, usage patterns, and error reports to improve the Services. We temporarily process IP addresses for rate limiting and security purposes. Without consent, we collect only what is strictly necessary to operate the Services.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We never store your credit card number. We receive only your subscription status and billing dates.

  • Public content: Snipplets you choose to make public are visible to other users and accessible via direct links. Your username and display name appear alongside your public content.

  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. AI Features

Snipplet offers AI-powered content generation. When you use these features:

  • Your text prompts and/or uploaded photos are sent to a third-party AI provider for processing
  • Photos are processed in real time and are not permanently stored by us or the AI provider
  • The AI provider does not use your inputs to train their models
  • No personal information, account data, or existing content is shared with the AI provider
  • Generated place names may be sent to a third-party location service to retrieve addresses and coordinates; no personal data is included in those requests
  • We log prompts (not photos), response times, and success/failure status for service improvement
  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it before use

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential: Authentication and session management (always active)
  • Analytics: Understanding how users interact with the Services (only with your consent)
  • Error monitoring: Detecting and resolving bugs (only with your consent)
  • Preferences: Remembering your settings and draft content

Non-essential cookies are only enabled after you accept them. You can decline and use all features of Snipplet without limitation.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. We protect it using encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, database-level access controls, automated backups, and restricted personnel access. Some content may also be stored locally on your device; we are not responsible for data lost due to clearing browser storage or device changes.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and private content within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing agreements). Publicly shared content that has been copied or saved by other users may persist beyond account deletion.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
